Attempting to install Plogger, and have come across some errors that I cannot make heads or tails of. Could be something quite simple, as I am fairly new to both SQL and PHP, but I have not been able to find any answers just yet.
I am hoping perhaps someone can help me make some sense of the following error messages, and perhaps point me in the right direction.
The following error messages appear after attemping a basic install.
I do have an associated database table for Plogger in MySQL (by way of phpmyadmin), but am not entirely certain even about the veracity of my build on that.
********************
string(184) "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Type=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARACTER SET UTF8' at line 6" string(184) "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Type=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARACTER SET UTF8' at line 8" string(226) "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '(14) NOT NULL, `date_submitted` timestamp(14) NOT NULL, `EXIF_date_taken` varc' at line 7" string(185) "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Type=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARACTER SET UTF8' at line 12" string(185) "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Type=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARACTER SET UTF8' at line 29"

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

We have a problem displaying the albums of a collection. In the "view" option of the backend, everything works fine. On the website on which we use the gallery template (test), we have no access to the albums. Even though we see the albums in the collection, there is no access to the album itself (root/index.php?level=album&id=1). The links are leading to a 404-site and the site "test" is not included in the link. If we manually add "test" (root/test/index.php?level=album&id=1) we again are referred to a 404-site.

So, the problem is clearly that the links to the album are incorrect. We tried to change some things in the htacces which did not work out.

Is somebody able to help us out?]]>

Hi Joe, I have attempted to take a brief look at the software to try and advise. The issue is that when the system is checked on loading the site (index.php) calls plog-load-config.php and ends up with.... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Check if Plogger is installed first if (!is_plogger_installed()) { if (isset($_SERVERREQUEST_URI?) && strpos($_SERVERREQUEST_URI?, 'plog-admin')) { $install_url = '_install.php'; $upgrade_url = '_upgrade.php'; $img = ; } else { $install_url = 'plog-admin/_install.php'; $upgrade_url = 'plog-admin/_upgrade.php'; $img = ; } die($img."\n" . ' '.plog_tr('Please run _install.php to set up Plogger. If you are upgrading from a previous version, please run _upgrade.php').'.

'); } <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< It is the 'else' statement that is being invoked, then printing the screen you see via the 'die' statement - In essence, that block of code is checking for the plog install and thinks its not and hence offers the option to install. I can't progress much further as there is no indication of server or permission errors etc, You could now search the plog site forum for issues related per the above - although in most cases it normally requires a later version software install/upgrade - but the plog forum may shed more light on your specific problem. Just some pointers, are you running a beta version, maybe not the latest known working release, and if you do upgrade or reinstall - will you need to drop your database, or does the plog install do that for you - an overwrite of an old databse would probably cause issues - all points you may wish to consider.

I have been using Plogger on webhost server since May2010. This probem occurred last week during an upload of new images session.
Can anyone advise me on solutions? I've put this on the Trac tickets but not sure how much or how often support is available (Ticket #263 refers)

Thanks, Joe Molloy]]>

The website currently uses a MySQL database and I have no problems connecting to the database and selecting it through the MySQL PHP interface functions with code similar to:

$dbname = 'Mydbname';
$link = mysql_connect("mysqlxxx.ixwebhosting.com","C123456_Bob","MyPassword") or die("Couldn't make connection.");
$db = mysql_select_db($dbname, $link) or die("Couldn't select database");

However, when I run the installation script to install Plogger(_install.php) and fill in the form, it produces an error similar to:

"Cannot find the database Mydbname. MySQL error: Access denied for user 'C123456_Bob'@'%' to database 'Mydbname' "

The error message looks like the installation program is not parsing the user name entry properly and/or not recognizing the User ID and email address that identifies my account at the hosting service.

The input form also contains the following Administrative Setup fields:

Gallery Name:
Your Email:
Username:
Password:

Should the Username be taken in the context of my host assigned user ID and the Password taken in the context of my email server or can I choose any values for these fields?

Since the installation was stopped because of these perceived errors can I just modify and rename the sample configuration file to get around this?

Obviously, I'm way over my head in filling out this simple installation form. Any help will be greatly appreciated.]]>

<?php the_gallery_head(); ?> replace with --> <?php the_plogger_head(); ?>

<?php the_gallery(); ?> replace with --> <?php the_plogger_gallery(); ?>

I really would like to avoid having to upload and name all the collections, albums and pictures again.

i'm trying to install plogger over my Windows Server 2008, with SQL Server 2008
on "Plogger Configuration Setup" after filling this form and pressing "Proceed" i'm getting this error

?Cannot connect to MySQL with the information provided. MySQL error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
?Cannot find the database XXXX. MySQL error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

how could i fix that ?

thank u very much !]]>
Installer not working http://www.plogger.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=3229 http://www.plogger.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=3229 Sun, 16 May 2010 16:40:54 +0000 affinitymc http://www.mydomain.com/plogger-1.0RC1/plog-admin/php4

I tried configuring and uploading the config.php file, but all that did was strip away those fields in the form that related to the database connection, and I'm left with the admin fields. When I fill these in, I still get the Error 404 message.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!]]>
Can't download config file? http://www.plogger.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=2971 http://www.plogger.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=2971 Tue, 01 Dec 2009 14:25:59 +0000 fonikz http://www.adornleatherpvtltd.com\/plog-admin/js/lightbox.js http://www.plogger.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=3211 http://www.plogger.org/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=3211 Fri, 07 May 2010 12:49:28 +0000 contactparijat Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: Permission denied in D:\inetpub\vhosts\adornleatherpvtltd.com\httpdocs\plog-admin\plog-admin-functions.php on line 1230
But the installation process states that Plogger have been installed properly.
Then, when I login the display is awful. So when I checked the back end code I find this.

NOTE there is a "\" and "/" any idea why this is happening.]]>
