    when trying to run _install.php I get the following messages
    ?The path /hsphere/local/home/michaelf/michaelflatt.com/plogger-gallery/plog-content/images is not writable by the web server.
    ?The path /hsphere/local/home/michaelf/michaelflatt.com/plogger-gallery/plog-content/thumbs is not writable by the web server.

    any help gratefully received thanks

    I've had the same issue. Here's what I have just done.

    First, I changed the folder permissions on the "images" and "thumbs" folders to 777 (CHMOD 777) and clicked "try again" button. This produced the following message:
    <blockquote>Please temporarily CHMOD the plog-content/ directory to 0777 to allow Plogger to create initial directories for increased security. You will be prompted to CHMOD the directory back to 0755 after installation is complete.</blockquote>

    Second, I changed the permissions as instructed (above) for "plog-content" folder.
    After clicking "try again" I have been able to access the admin login part.

    is it from web brwoser like this: www.yourdomain.com_install.php

    or how

    Have you checked that there isn't already an install.php file in the folder?
