    I can't answer your question, but for someone else I know it will be very helpfull if you could say something about your server etc.? PHP version, safe-mode on or off, register globals on/off, mysql version, windows/linux? There are some problems being listed that most likely have something to do with server configurations :).

    You may want to try reuploading the _install.php file. Sometimes these files only partially upload and you get parse errors.
